Source : www.landglass.co    Release time:2013-08-15

2. Hotspots or imprints
Hotspots and imprints are the most common problems during the glass tempering process, they are mainly caused by dirt and particles.
1) The glass sheets are not well washed and there is still dirt on the glass sheet before they are tempered, such as dirt, dryer left, etc.
2) Part of insulation layer inside heating furnace is broken and falls on the surfaces of glass sheets or ceramic rollers, which will cause hotspots after tempering process.
3) If the ceramic rollers are not kept clean, small glass particles on ceramic rollers after glass breaking inside heating furnace, the dirt brought into the heating furnace by glass sheets, and the fallen insulation layers on ceramic rollers will accumulate on them and cause the imprints and hotspots;
4) Too much SO2 gas is feed into heating furnace during production, which will contaminate the ceramic rollers and cause hotspot or imprints.
Solutions:
1) Clean the glass sheets well before tempering, recheck them if there are dirt or water marks on them before tempering;
2) Maintain the insulation layer and other components inside heating furnace regularly, in order to avoid the dirt on rollers or glass sheets;
3) Stop the production and Clean the ceramic rollers if the ceramic rollers are dirty;

4) Use SO2 gas as least as possible.
