The Causes and Solutions of Scratches on the Surfaces of Tempered Glass
Source : www.landglass.co    Release time:2013-08-09

Usually the scratches are left on glass surfaces before the glass moving into quenching section of the tempering furnace, which at last increase unqualified rate. The scratches come from:

1) Poor quality of float glass sheets, viz. scratches already left on float glass;
2) Scratches are caused by glass particles during glass cutting, grinding and washing on operation tables;
3) The particles between two glass sheets or two glass sheets themselves may leave scratches on glass surfaces when the glass sheets are loading or unloading together.
4) The dirt on transmission rollers, the poor flatness of the transmission rollers, and poor synchrony of transmission rollers may cause scratches on glass surfaces.
5) The dirt on ceramic rollers will leave scratches on glass surface when the glass sheets are soft during glass heating process in glass tempering furnace

6) Colliding between the glass and furnace doors will leave regular lengthwise or crosswise scratches on glass surfaces.

Solutions:
1) Only use qualified float glass;
2) Free the processing machines of any dirt and glass particles; grind ,wash the glass sheets well before tempering;
3) While loading or unloading, take only one piece of glass instead of many pieces of glass together;
4) In case that glass breaks on the glass processing machines, such as cutting, drilling, edging, washing, tempering machines, clear the glass particles immediately;
5) Clear the dirt on the transmission rollers, ceramic rollers;
6) Check the flatness of the transmission rollers and ceramic rollers and keep good flatness of them, so as to minimize the scratches during glass moving;
7) Check the height of the furnace door and if it is deformed; and check whether the photo sensors or the encoders work rightly or not.
